Amazing Adventures #1

Here's another of my favorite silver age comic books, AMAZING ADVENTURES #1, June 1961. The contents are fairly typical of the Stan Lee monster books of the time, but the title itself is a storied one, since it turned into AMAZING ADULT FANTASY with issue #7. The last issue, re-titled again as AMAZING FANTASY #15, is one of the most famous comic books of all time, presenting the origin of the Amazing Spider-Man.

  1. Okay, so he got a mustache. But just imagine that he had been given sideburns!

  2. Lovvvvvvvvvvvvvve Kirby's monsters!

Someone should do a photoshop with all Kirby's '50s and '60s monsters en masse!

I'd do it, but I'd get too distracte by Kirby's '50s women.
