Twenty terrific panels by a master, Jimmy Hatlo. THEY'LL DO IT EVERY TIME was a fixture in newspapers for decades. These pages are from the book, THEY'LL DO IT EVERY TIME By Jimmy Hatlo, published by David McKay company, first edition 1943.
More Jimmy Hatlo cartoons from this book can be found on the original Harry Green Eyeball blog here.

I love Hatlo's work. I've been a fan of his since I was a kid, reading They'll Do It Everytime and Little Iodine religiously.
ReplyDeleteGood to see the scans. Thanks.
I am trying to track down a "They'll Do it Every Time" panel and was wondering if you could help me find it. My source tells me it was copyrighted in 1946 and features a character named "Hypo" who was a press photographer or journalist who comes to work in his fishing clothes and gets sent to cover a posh wedding. Then the next day, he shows up in his Sunday best and gets sent to cover a fire which ruins his clothes. If you have any information that might help me find this cartoon, I would be very appreciative. Please contact me via email at hpope66[at]yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteThis is my all time favorite comic strip!I made a submission to it in July '85 and I'd love to find it and print it out for a memento!
