HGE: What a staggering piece of comic book history. One of the best things I have ever read regarding EC history, period. I have all the Russ Cochran hardcover B&W volumes, and like many feel that the early fifties lineup at EC was the greatest collection of comic book artistic talent ever assembled. I have read everything available regarding EC history. I honestly don't think anything approaches this well-written, well-researched extended essay. I am going to have to read it again so that I may pick up subtleties I missed in my first excited reading. My congratulations for posting this. -- Mykal
I don't know anything about Parente, but he was a good writer. He had some credits in Warren magazines, as I recall.
Like you, I also own the complete Russ Cochran b&w EC sets. I love them so much I'm thinking of having them put in my casket with me when I go to that great comic book reading room in the sky.
